If you're looking to get started in Adobe Illustrator, I recommend opening the program, and getting accustomed to the workspace. Start playing with different tools and functionalities to create some basic shapes. From my own experience, I know that this process of learning Illustrator and being comfortable enough to actually create an illustration can take a LONG time, and that is exactly why I created Illustration Bootcamp. 

This course is a collection of all the Illustrator tools, functionalities, tips, and tricks that I have compiled after years of working in the program. So that you can get into creating beautiful, professional-level illustrations in a fraction of the time! 

This is basically the course I wish I had when I was first starting out.  

Illustration Style Academy focuses on helping you develop, and uncover your own unique illustration style. You can use any graphics software to work through this course (Photoshop, Illustrator, Procreate, Whatever you like!). Essentially it is focused on style and finding your unique, personal artistic voice. 

On the other hand, Illustration Bootcamp is a deep-dive course into using Adobe Illustrator. The course will take you from the very basic tools and functionalities, to more advanced approaches to creating highly polished, professional-level illustrations.

No, you do not need a full Adobe subscription to use Illustrator. Adobe Illustrator is available as a standalone software, which can be purchased and used without subscribing to other Adobe products.

However, if you use other software like Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere, etc. it may make more sense to invest in the full Adobe Creative Cloud subscription which includes almost all Adobe products.
